*Hugs Isabella.* Hello, my dear friend—and all of your
awesome bloggettes! You know, the typical greeting to use when you’re guesting
on someone’s blog is to say how “thrilled I am to be here.” But in this case, I
have to tell you that it’s completely true.
Have you ever met someone for the first time, but felt
like you’ve known them forever? That’s how it was from the moment that I hugged
Isabella for the first time when we met in Colorado this spring, bound for the
RomCon 2013 conference. Inside an hour, I was snapping pictures of her in the
rental car, sucking on a naughty man part lollipop, and that night as roomies,
we were giggling and telling stories (yeah, okay, so AGAIN, they were naughty)
like college roommates.
In short, I think it’s safe to say that the heart knows
when it’s found a perfect home—in friendship and in love. I think that was one of the coolest themes for me to
explore as I wrote HANDCUFFED BY HER HERO, the newest installment in my
W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces series.
The road that Zeke Hayes and Rayna Chestain take together
toward realizing this for themselves is certainly not easy or painless. They’ve
both been through hell, and in many ways, they both think they are still
there—but their love for each other is a healing force that was so rewarding to
write about. And oh yeah, getting to do it while writing them between the
sheets together wasn’t such a bad perk of the job, either! (And on the dining
room table…and the floor…and on the couch…and in a hospital bed…*smirk*)
